I appointed LA Brickwork to build a retaining wall to the side of my property, in replacement of a previous wall that proved too weak to do the job.  For various reasons, the job was far from straightforward and required me to engage a structural engineer for advice.  Of all the contractors I asked to quote, Lee was the only one who showed the necessary technical understanding of the complexity of the work, to the point that he pre-empted all the structural engineer’s recommendations and made a number of additional suggestions himself as to how the job could best be completed (all of which were incorporated in the final construction).

From the outset I found Lee and his team to be highly professional. As well as having the technical expertise to handle the project, they always turned up on time; were polite and helpful; tidy in everything they did; and were, quite simply, a bunch of really nice guys who went out of their way to ensure the success of the project.

The quality of their workmanship is reflected in the number of complements we have received as to how good the finished wall looks, often from complete strangers who walk past our property and have noticed the improvement it has made.

It goes without saying that I would not hesitate to recommend Lee & his team wholeheartedly and I have, in fact, used them subsequently to lay our block-paved drive, where they displayed the same level of professionalism and commitment (and which has also attracted similar complements as we had for the wall).

I'm very glad I chose them to do my work. The finish is first class and they were courteous, professional, prompt, and basically everything you want from a trade.

Some minor examples: 1) he actually replied to my initial email unlike others, 2) he spent a couple of weeks trying to obtain the perfect brick to blend in with the existing, and 3) he humoured me all the way with my ever-changing spec.

Would use them again and have recommended to my friends.
